Aims and Scope

Aims
Pedagonal: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan is a rigorous, double-blind peer-reviewed, and open-access journal dedicated to advancing the theory, practice, and policy of education. The journal aims to provide a premier academic platform for researchers, educators, administrators, and policymakers to disseminate high-quality empirical research and comprehensive reviews. We are committed to publishing innovative findings that address contemporary educational challenges, bridge the gap between educational theory and practice, and contribute to the improvement of educational quality across all levels—from primary and secondary education to higher education and vocational training.

Scope
To fulfill this aim, Pedagonal exclusively publishes original empirical research articles (utilizing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches) and rigorous review articles (including systematic reviews and bibliometric analyses).

Our scope encompasses a wide range of critical themes within the educational sciences, including, but not limited to:

  • Instructional Design and Educational Technology: The development, implementation, and evaluation of digital learning media, interactive web-based tools, e-modules, gamification, and instructional videos.

  • Pedagogical Innovations and Learning Models: The application and effectiveness of contemporary teaching strategies, including Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), STEAM approaches, and cooperative learning frameworks.

  • Educational Management and Leadership: Research on school administration, educational human resource development, strategic planning, principal leadership, and continuous teacher professional development.

  • Curriculum Development and Educational Policy: The design, implementation, and evaluation of national and institutional curricula (e.g., the Merdeka Curriculum), educational policies, and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

  • Character Education and Socio-Cultural Contexts: The integration of local wisdom and cultural values into education, digital citizenship, multicultural counseling, and the socio-cultural adaptation of learners.

  • Subject-Specific Pedagogy and Literacy: Innovations in the teaching and learning processes of specific academic disciplines, encompassing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) literacy, language and literature education, arts, and social studies.
