https://pedagonal-fkip.unpak.ac.id/index.php/pedagonal/article/view/44

This study is motivated by the urgency to develop students’ character amid the complexities of the digital era, where low ethical literacy and declining digital citizenship awareness pose real challenges to the education system. To address these issues, a learning model is needed that not only emphasizes technological mastery but also fosters integrity, responsibility, and social awareness as integral components of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. This research aims to examine the implementation strategy of the Smart Citizen learning model in supporting character formation among students at One of State Senior High School in Central Java, Indonesia. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation, and is analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that the Smart Citizen model is effective in promoting the realization of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila, particularly in the dimensions of independence, critical thinking, and collaboration. Its implementation integrates active learning methods such as Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning, which encourage students not only to understand the content but also to internalize digital ethical values and act as responsible digital citizens. This model aligns with the spirit of the Merdeka Curriculum, fostering deep learning based on experience and personal reflection. With strengthened teacher competencies and ongoing evaluation, the Smart Citizen model holds the potential to be replicated in other educational institutions as a contextual and transformative strategy for digital character education.
Tutik Wijayanti, Muhammad Andi Kurniawan, Maman Rachman, Hafiz Rafi Uddin, Mohamad Ikhwan Rosyidi

https://pedagonal-fkip.unpak.ac.id/index.php/pedagonal/article/view/54

Good nutrition has been shown to support concentration, memory, and academic achievement, making nutritious meal programs in schools one strategy for improving educational quality. One of the government's efforts in this area is the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG). This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions regarding the benefits and challenges of implementing the program in schools. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used a structured interview guide. Participants in this study were purposively selected, including teachers from elementary to secondary school levels. The interview procedure in this study was carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and closing. The results showed that the majority of teachers considered the MBG program a good initiative and needed to be implemented immediately. The main benefits identified included meeting students' nutritional needs, improving concentration and academic achievement, equalizing access to education, and building social character through communal mealtimes. However, teachers also highlighted a number of challenges such as budget limitations, the readiness of facilities and staff, food hygiene, distribution in remote areas, and the potential for misguided motivation among students who come to school solely for food. The study concluded that teachers' perceptions of the MBG program were both optimistic and realistic: optimistic about the significant benefits it could bring to students and the educational system, yet realistic about the technical and structural barriers that must be overcome. Therefore, the success of the program depends on careful planning, cross-sector support, and consistent monitoring and evaluation so that its implementation is effective, sustainable, and on target.
Yohanes Freadyanus Kasi, Maria Elisabet Ga’a, Titiyaka Binti Jajuri, Delviana Vivi Bai

https://pedagonal-fkip.unpak.ac.id/index.php/pedagonal/article/view/42

Metacognition plays an important role in mathematical literacy because it helps students become aware of, monitor, and regulate their thinking processes when solving mathematical problems. With good metacognitive abilities, students can choose the right strategies, evaluate their solution steps, and correct errors to achieve a deeper conceptual understanding. This study is a narrative literature study that aims to explore the relationship between metacognitive skills and mathematical literacy in the context of learning. Literature searches were conducted through various databases (Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Taylor & Francis) with publication inclusion criteria for 2016–2025. There were 40 relevant articles selected and analyzed. The results of the review show that most studies found a positive relationship between metacognition and mathematical literacy. Metacognition has been shown to support students in planning, monitoring, and evaluating thought processes when solving mathematical problems. Thus, metacognitive skills are an important foundation in improving concept understanding, problem-solving, and overall mathematical literacy. These findings confirm the importance of integrating metacognition-based learning strategies in mathematics learning design to meet 21st century challenges.
Muthya Hanifa, Nursalam Nursalam, Andi Kusumayanti, Suharti Suharti
